Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar complained to Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari about the Hanamkonda RDO, accusing them of unlawfully recording his phone conversation. The incident occurred when BRS MLA P Kaushik Reddy visited the area.
Minister Prabhakar had a conference call with the Hanamkonda RDO and MRO earlier, discussing the distribution of Kalyana Lakshmi cheques in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency. He raised concerns about Kaushik Reddy continuing to receive the cheques despite the change in administration. Prabhakar claimed that the RDO did not follow proper protocol.
The audio recording of the conversation went viral on social media, leading Minister Prabhakar to suspect that the RDO and other officials may have leaked it to the opposition MLA.
