Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar believes that the Congress flag should be raised in the Lok Sabha elections in Karimnagar. He made this statement during an election rally in the city on Saturday, the final day of campaigning. Ponnam accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao of being dictators.
He highlighted the success of the Congress in the recent Assembly elections in Telangana under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Ponnam emphasized that the Congress stood for democracy and change against dictatorship. He also mentioned that BJP and BRS leaders are criticizing the current government, which is only five months old.
Ponnam promised to fulfill the remaining guarantees made by the Congress government after the election code. He campaigned with Karimnagar parliamentary candidate Velichala Rajender Rao and former MLA Koduri Satyanarayana Goud in Ramnagar.
The Minister expressed confidence in Rajendra Rao’s ability to lead Karimnagar towards development. He criticized BJP and BRS leaders for not discussing their achievements and urged people to vote for Congress to fight against dictatorship, protect democracy, uphold the Constitution, and ensure freedom for marginalized communities.
Ponnam accused the BJP of inciting religious tensions between Hindus and Muslims for political gain. He assured the development of Karimnagar constituency in areas such as irrigation, agriculture, employment, and education.
The Minister praised the hard work of Congress party workers at all levels, from booth workers to ministers. Despite delays in declaring candidates, he commended the party’s efforts on the ground.
