A team of BJP leaders visited Kommayigudem village in Ramannapet Mandal of Nalgonda district to assess the damage to crops caused by drought. The delegation was led by BJP State General Secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy, District President Nagam Varshit Reddy, and Kisan Morcha National Executive Member Goli Madhusudhan Reddy.

After inspecting the dried-up fields on Monday, Premender Reddy demanded that the government provide compensation of Rs 30,000 per acre to affected farmers. He also urged the immediate implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana scheme to support struggling farmers.

He pointed out that farmers have not yet received the Rs 12,000 per acre promised under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He criticized the Congress government for its failure to deliver on this promise and urged them to take action, especially with elections approaching. He also called for the repair of the Dharma Reddy and Philai Pelli canals and the provision of irrigation water to farmers.
