Hyderabad: The Mayor of Greater Hyderabad, Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, has announced that all necessary preparations will be made in the city to celebrate the upcoming Ganesh festival in a grand and joyful manner.
A coordination meeting was held on Saturday at the GHMC headquarters to discuss the arrangements for the Ganesh festival. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the police department, GHMC, zonal commissioners, Deputy Mayor Srilatha Sobhan Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata, and representatives from the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi.
During the meeting, Mayor Vijayalakshmi emphasized that the GHMC is committed to making all necessary arrangements to ensure that the Vinayaka festival and the immersion process are celebrated smoothly and grandly throughout the city.
The Mayor also mentioned that inspections of ponds and baby ponds, where the Vinayaka immersion will take place, are being conducted in every zone. She stated that she had already visited all the tanks, baby ponds, and roads within the Sherlingampally and Kukatpally zones to oversee the preparations and instructed the concerned officials to provide the necessary amenities.
The Mayor assured that zonal commissioners and officials are actively working on these arrangements and are closely monitoring the progress. Additionally, she noted that the cleaning and desilting of ponds have already been carried out to ensure a smooth immersion process.
