Collector Directs Officials to Ensure Fair Gram Panchayat Elections
Gadwal: District Collector BM Santosh has instructed officials to make full preparations for the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections. He stressed the importance of conducting the elections transparently and following all guidelines strictly to ensure a smooth and fair process.
On Wednesday, the Collector attended a training session for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Returning Officers (ROs) at the collectorate. During the session, he emphasized the need for thorough preparations well in advance. The elections will take place across 255 gram panchayats in the district, and all necessary arrangements must be completed on time.
To ensure the elections run efficiently, special training has been provided to 255 officers. These officers will play a crucial role in managing the election process effectively. The Collector also advised officials to carefully study the regulations outlined in the Election Commission’s handbook. If they have any doubts, they should consult master trainers for clarification.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of identifying and managing sensitive polling areas. Officials must ensure law and order are maintained and take necessary precautions for a peaceful election. By following these steps, the administration can ensure a smooth and successful electoral process.
