Union Minister Bandi Sanjay accused previous administrations of misusing the assets of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). He claimed that political operatives had turned TTD into a rehabilitation centre for the unemployed after visiting the Tirumala temple.
Sanjay stated that those responsible for misappropriating the temple’s assets are no longer in power, and a new administration focused on serving the deity has taken charge. He criticized the former rulers of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh, likening them to Veerappan and accusing them of looting national wealth through red sandalwood trade.
The Union Minister emphasized that there would be no leniency for red sandalwood smugglers and called for a report on the red sandalwood plunder in the Seshachalam hills. He promised action against those who looted national resources based on the findings of the report.
Sanjay also accused the previous corrupt government of diverting temple funds and turning Tirumala into a political rehabilitation center. He vowed to take action against those involved in the misuse of temple funds and resources.
