    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Pune in Maharashtra on August 1. During his visit, he will perform pooja at Dagdusheth Mandir, receive the Lokmanya Tilak National Award, and lay the foundation stone for various development projects.

    At around 11 am, Prime Minister Modi will visit Dagdusheth Mandir to perform darshan and pooja. Then, at 11:45 am, he will be conferred the Lokmanya Tilak National Award.

    Following this, at 12:45 pm, the Prime Minister will flag off metro trains and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects. The Pune Metro Phase I will have two completed sections from Phugewadi station to Civil Court station and Garware College station to Ruby Hall Clinic station. These sections will connect important places in Pune such as Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, Pune Municipal Corporation office, Pune RTO, and Pune Railway Station.

    The metro stations on the route draw inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. For example, the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Udyan Metro Station and Deccan Gymkhana Metro Station have a unique design resembling the headgear worn by soldiers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Shivaji Nagar underground Metro Station reminds of the forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Additionally, the Civil Court metro station is one of the deepest in the country with a depth of 33.1 meters.

    Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the Waste to Energy Plant under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). This plant, developed at a cost of about Rs 300 crore, will use around 2.5 lakh MT of waste annually to produce electricity.

    Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will hand over more than 1,280 houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by PCMC and more than 2,650 PMAY houses constructed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. He will also lay the foundation stone for around 1,190 PMAY houses to be constructed by the PCMC and over 6,400 houses constructed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

    During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will also receive the Lokmanya Tilak National Award. This award, presented every year on August 1, honors individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the progress and development of the nation. Prime Minister Modi will be the 41st recipient of this prestigious award.

    In the past, the Lokmanya Tilak National Award has been given to notable individuals such as Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, Pranab Mukherjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Indira Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, N. R. Narayana Murthy, and E. Sreedharan, among others.
