The Congress party is launching a ‘bus yatra’ to connect with people and show their unity and determination to challenge the ruling BRS. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will start the yatra from the Ramappa temple in Mulugu district. They will travel by chopper from Hyderabad and offer prayers at the UNESCO world heritage site.

The three-day yatra will cover constituencies in Mulugu, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad districts. TPCC chief Revanth Reddy will lead the yatra, with other senior Congress leaders joining as well. During the yatra, Rahul, Priyanka, and other leaders will interact with women, youth, and different communities to understand their problems and explain the ‘6 Guarantees’. They will also hold public meetings and padayatras.

On October 19, Rahul will meet employees of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, NTPC, and Ramagundam Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. He will also engage with beedi workers, Gulf migrants’ families, and Nizam Sugar Factory workers in Nizamabad. Additionally, he will visit farmers in Armoor where turmeric is grown. The yatra will conclude with a padayatra and public meeting in Nizamabad.

The Congress previously organized a similar bus yatra before the Karnataka assembly elections. The concept of bus yatras to maintain unity and mobilize support within the Congress was originally introduced by Ghulam Nabi Azad when he was AICC general secretary of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
