Heavy rain in Hyderabad recently caused damage to roads, leading to frustration among residents and commuters. In Anand Nagar, Nagole, a woman sat in a pool of muddy water on a damaged road to protest the unsafe conditions. She and other residents held a placard demanding safer roads, as her kids had fallen due to a pothole.

On the Nagole-Uppal stretch, a large pothole caused traffic jams and health problems for commuters and residents. Despite complaints to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, no action was taken. In a viral video, a woman named Niharika protested by sitting in a pothole filled with muddy water, urging others to join her in highlighting the civic body’s failure.

Niharika explained that more than 30 potholes were present on the stretch, but the local corporator claimed the budget was sanctioned but pending due to election code. The protest gained attention on social media, prompting GHMC to address the issue and clear the area of stagnation.

A flyover construction project in the area has slowed down, worsening the road conditions underneath. This has become a nightmare for commuters, locals, and hawkers. Netizens also shared photos of bad road conditions in their areas, expressing concerns about the approaching monsoon season.
