Hyderabad: Defense helicopters were used to help people across the state during the heavy rains. The state’s Fire Service department’s Disaster wing was crucial in rescuing individuals from rain-hit districts.
In Kamareddy, Sircilla, Nirmal, and Nizamabad districts, the fire service team saved over 800 people trapped by floods. They rescued 360 individuals from an SC Women’s Degree College hostel and 84 more from an SC and ST Welfare hostel in Ramayampet town. Additionally, 70 people were saved from GR colony in Kamareddy, and 20 from the Housing Board colony.
Officials reported that the proactive Fire service department sent teams to the most flooded areas. They used boats and ropes to rescue those stranded. Helicopters also airlifted people from Upper Manair in Naramala village of Gambhiraopet mandal and transported them to Hakimpet.
