AMARAVATI: Undi MLA Raghurama Krishnam Raju has requested Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to take quick action against former CID Chief PV Sunil Kumar. Raju accused Sunil Kumar of threatening important witnesses in a custodial violence case.
In a letter sent to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Raju demanded the immediate arrest of Sunil Kumar.
Raju also claimed that he was wrongfully arrested and harassed by the government led by YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. He further added that there were three assassination attempts on his life during the YSRCP’s rule. After he filed a complaint, a case of attempted murder was registered on July 11 at Pattabhipuram Police Station. The case involved several officials, including Sunil Kumar, Intelligence chief Seetharamanjaneyulu, then-Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Investigation Officer Vijayapal, and GGH Superintendent Dr. Neelam Prabhavati, among others.
He mentioned that the investigation team had already collected evidence, including his own statements and those of other witnesses.
Raju raised concerns that Sunil Kumar was intimidating key witnesses, including police officers and doctors. In his letter, he emphasized the need for Sunil Kumar to be immediately taken into custody to protect the investigation’s fairness.
