    Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 56 runs in an IPL 2023 match at IS Bindra Stadium. This win helped LSG climb to second place in the 10-team standings with 10 points in eight outings, while Punjab placed sixth with eight points.

    LSG’s Marcus Stoinis and Kyle Mayers scored attacking fifties, setting the foundation for their massive total. Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran’s quickfire innings took Lucknow to 257/5 on the board, the second-highest total in IPL history. In defence, Ravi Bishnoi and bowlers Yash Thakur and Naveen-ul-Haq executed their plans in the slog overs to seal a big win for LSG.

    The Rajasthan Royals maintained their position at the top of the standings, with Faf du Plessis currently holding the orange cap. The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper has so far scored a total of 422 runs in 8 matches with an average of 60.29. Mohammed Siraj of Royal Challengers Bangalore is leading the purple cap list for most wickets with 14 in 8 matches.
