Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is working to revive the past glory by changing the Telangana symbols. He believes that former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s self-obsession as an autocratic ruler is reflected in the existing symbols. Reddy mentioned that BRS does not want to credit the martyrs, hence protesting against the martyrs’ memorial in the emblem.

In an informal interaction with journalists at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Revanth Reddy clarified that the decision to change the Telangana symbols was not his personal decision but a collective one by the Cabinet sub-committee led by Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. He stated that the government would fully implement this change since it was declared in the Assembly. Everyone’s opinion will also be considered in the next Assembly session regarding this issue.

Regarding BJP president J P Nadda’s statement about BJP winning 4 to 5 seats, CM Revanth Reddy believes that Congress will secure at least 10 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. He mentioned that if Congress comes to power at the Centre, there is a chance of demanding Cabinet berths for MPs from the State. Revanth Reddy aims to seek at least four portfolios to help develop the State more efficiently.

Expressing concerns about Sonia Gandhi’s possible absence at the Telangana formation day due to health reasons, CM Revanth Reddy assured that her presence would be felt during the celebrations through her message. He refrained from commenting on the phone tapping issue due to election code restrictions.
