Hyderabad: On Wednesday, VC Sajjanar began his role as the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner by distributing wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities.
This event took place at the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) in Banjara Hills and was organized by the Vikalaangula Network, Freedom Association, Triple R Foundation, and NAMC Trust. The Commissioner personally handed out wheelchairs to those in need.
Commissioner Sajjanar expressed his joy in being part of this social service event as his first public duty. He emphasized the importance of supporting vulnerable groups, particularly those with physical challenges. He assured that, beyond enforcing law and order, the police are committed to serving the community with empathy. Sajjanar praised the efforts of the voluntary organizations for hosting the event and promised continued police support for such initiatives.
In attendance were Tafseer Iqubal, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), K Apoorva Rao, DCP, Special Branch, and leaders of associations for the physically challenged like M. Srinivasulu. Also present were notable figures such as advisor Rapolu Bhaskar, Dr Vijayabhaskar, actor Lohith Kumar, Chidam Srinivas, Chiranjeevulu of PWA Trust, Samrajya Lakshmi of NAMC Trust, and K Kiran of TVHS.
