The police in Sangareddy have uncovered a theft operation involving Palladium on Carbon (PdC), a rare and expensive substance used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. They arrested six people and recovered stolen PdC worth around Rs. 4.5 crore.

Superintendent of Police Chennuri Rupesh shared details of the case on Thursday. He identified Allam Sambasivudu as the leader of the group. Sambasivudu had previously worked in pharmaceutical companies and allegedly used his industry knowledge to carry out the thefts.

Police investigations revealed that Sambasivudu collaborated with Prasad Saheb Sitole and Anmole Jagge, his former colleagues from a pharmaceutical company in Pune. After moving to Hyderabad, he continued stealing and selling PdC. The gang reportedly gained access to pharmaceutical warehouses by forming connections with store managers who helped them steal the valuable material.

One major theft took place on February 8 at Arena Life Sciences in Yavapur, under the Sadasivpet police jurisdiction. The gang allegedly stole 110 kg of wet PdC and 55 kg of dry PdC. Police say that store manager Tumma Mukkanti Reddy played a key role in this theft.

Following a complaint from the company, police launched an investigation and arrested the suspects at Maddikunta Crossroad on Wednesday. Authorities also discovered that the gang had committed similar thefts in the past, including stealing PdC worth Rs. 35 lakh from a company in Gummadidala and 8 kg from another firm in IDA Bollaram.

Further investigations linked the gang to additional cases in Bidar and Gujarat. Police reported that five more individuals involved in the operation are still on the run.

The arrested suspects are Sambasivudu, Prasad, Aditya Ankush, Mukkanti Reddy, Matta Kutumba Rao, and Gummadi Srinivas Rao. The police are continuing their efforts to catch the remaining suspects.
