The Telangana government has announced that schools, colleges, and government offices will be closed on Saturday, September 6, 2025. This applies to Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal–Malkajgiri districts.

The holiday is for the Ganesh idol immersion day, which leads to large processions and traffic congestion in the city.
However, there’s an important update:
To compensate for this day off, September 11 (Second Saturday) will be a regular working day for schools, colleges, and government offices in these areas.
So enjoy your holiday on September 6, but remember to attend on September 11.
