Series of raids conducted by DCA results in drug seizures

The Telangana State Drugs Control Administration (DCA) recently conducted raids in various districts across the state. The raids led to the seizure of illegally manufactured drugs, products with misleading claims, and items falsely marketed as food products or nutraceuticals.

During the raids on Thursday and Friday, officials seized ‘Oxifer-XT tablets’ and ‘Nurovis-LC tablets’. These tablets were falsely manufactured under a food license but were actually drugs requiring proper licensing. The drugs were found to be manufactured in separate facilities in Medchal-Malkajgiri district and were seized for violating the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

In another set of raids, DCA officials targeted drugs that falsely claimed to treat specific medical conditions. Products like Pathachatadi (Stone Cracker) and Vat Rakshas Ras tablets were seized for making misleading claims about their efficacy. The officials also conducted raids on clinics operated by unauthorised practitioners, uncovering a stock of drugs being sold without proper licensing.

Overall, these raids by the DCA aimed to crack down on illegal drug manufacturing, misleading advertisements, and the sale of unlicensed drugs in Telangana.
