After the match between Asia Lions and India Maharajas, Akhtar expressed his love for India and revealed that he even has his Aadhaar Card made. Akhtar has often praised India and the Indian cricket team on his YouTube channel, but this has led to trolling from his own countrymen. He is currently playing for Asia Lions in the tournament and was seen playing a match on March 14th, where he bowled only one over and conceded 12 runs before leaving the ground.
