Sikhs in Hyderabad celebrate 'Khalsa Panth' with festive spirit

The 325th “Khalsa Panth Foundation Day Celebrations,” also known as the “Vaisakhi” festival, were celebrated in Hyderabad with great enthusiasm by the Sikh community. The festivities included recitation of Gurubani Keertans, sermons by renowned preachers, a colorful Nagar Keertan procession, impressive displays of “Gatka” skills, and serving of free food at Guru ka Langar.

The celebrations took place at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet, Hyderabad, with the main event held at Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Play Grounds. Thousands of Sikh devotees and members of other faiths participated in the Mass Congregation, which featured recitations of Holy Gurbani keertans and Kathas by well-known Ragi Jathas.

Notable preachers like Bhai S Gurpreet Singh Khalsa, Gyani Vishal Singhji, and Bhai S. Gurjinder Singhji delivered speeches emphasizing the values of life and the founding of the Khalsa Panth. The event was organized by the Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet.

After the congregation, a traditional Guru-ka-Langar was served to all attendees. In the evening, a colorful Nagar Keertan procession took place, starting and ending at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet. The procession included Guru Granth Sahibji carried on a decorated vehicle along with “Nishaan saheban” from all Gurudwaras in the state.

On April 14, a Baisakhi keertan darbar will be held at Guru Gobind Singhji Sports Stadium in Ameerpet from 9 pm to 1.30 am. Reputed Ragi Jathas will perform Shabad Keertans during the event.
