A serious accident was narrowly avoided in Choutuppal on a Monday evening. A lorry lost control on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway, causing chaos and damage.
The truck was heading from Hyderabad to Vijayawada when it went out of control near the RTC bus station. Eyewitnesses said it first hit a car and then crashed into another vehicle.
Seeing a lot of traffic ahead and fearing a disaster, the driver jumped out and ran away. The driverless truck, still at high speed, hit several cars and motorcycles. It eventually veered onto the service road, causing more damage. People nearby shouted warnings, helping others get out of the way. This quick action prevented serious injuries. The lorry finally stopped after hitting flower and banana stalls, destroying a parked motorcycle. Luckily, no one was hurt, but six cars, two motorcycles, and several stalls got wrecked.
The exact reason for the accident is still unknown. It’s unclear if speeding or driver intoxication was involved. The driver is missing, and the local police have started an investigation.
The accident led to a major traffic jam on the highway. Authorities and locals were thankful that no lives were lost in what could have been a tragic event.
