Tributes Paid to Former AP Speaker Sripada Rao

Officials in Adilabad paid tribute to former Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker, Duddilla Sripada Rao, on his birth anniversary. District Collector Rajarshi Shah, Additional Collector Shyamala Devi, and others honored his memory by garlanding his portrait.

Collector Shah shared details about Sripada Rao’s life. He was born on March 2, 1935, in Dhanwada, Jayashankar Bhupalpally District. He started his career as a lawyer and later entered politics as a sarpanch. Over time, he became the President of the Mahadevpur Samiti and successfully contested the 1984 elections from Manthani. He served as an MLA three times and contributed significantly to the development of Andhra Pradesh.

Even after losing the 1994 elections, Sripada Rao remained dedicated to serving the people. Unfortunately, he passed away on April 13, 1999, while traveling through the forest route to Annaram in Mahadevpur Mandal.

Additional Collector Shyamala Devi encouraged students to learn from Sripada Rao’s life and contributions. She emphasized that his tenure as the Speaker of the Assembly will always be remembered and serve as an inspiration for future generations.

Teachers, students, Superintendent Shailaja, Panchapol, staff, and other officials participated in the tribute event.
