As of 31 March 2023, the prices of petrol and diesel in major cities across India have remained stable. In Delhi, the price of petrol per litre is Rs. 96.72 and diesel is priced at Rs. 89.62. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, petrol is priced at Rs. 109.66 per litre and diesel at Rs. 97.82 per litre. In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs. 102.65 per litre and diesel at Rs. 94.24 per litre. Mumbai’s petrol price per litre is Rs. 106.31 and diesel prices are at Rs. 97.28 per litre. In Bangalore, petrol prices are at Rs. 101.94 per litre and diesel prices are at Rs. 87.89 per litre.

India heavily relies on crude oil imports for petrol and diesel, so fluctuations in crude prices can impact the prices of domestic fuel. However, other factors such as rising demand, government taxes, rupee-dollar depreciation, and refinery concept ratio can also affect fuel prices.

It is important to note that these prices are subject to change at any time as petroleum companies may alter fuel prices based on crude oil prices. The prices mentioned above are due at 6 am on 31 March 2023.
