Hyderabad: On Sunday, the Telangana branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held an important meeting at its headquarters. The purpose was to develop a strategy for the upcoming local elections. State President N Ramchander Rao led the meeting, joined by key figures like Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, BJP National Vice President D.K. Aruna, and others.
The discussions centered on the ZPTC, MPTC, and Sarpanch elections. The focus was on building a strong grassroots network and boosting support in rural Telangana. Leaders highlighted the need to address public concerns and run a strong campaign against the governance failures of both the previous BRS and the current Congress government.
A major decision was to hold public meetings across districts. These meetings aim to reveal what BJP leaders call the Congress government’s “conspiracies and dramas” over the last 22 months. They criticized the Congress for delaying local elections and mishandling reservations for Backwards Classes (BCs), accusing them of weakening rural governance.
To drive the campaign, the party will appoint former Parliamentarians, Assembly and Council members, District Presidents, and State Office Bearers as ZPTC and District In-charges. These leaders will manage committees, select candidates, and work on constituency-level outreach.
The meeting also laid the groundwork for the upcoming Assembly elections, aiming to bring the BJP to power in Telangana. Special tactics were discussed to win a majority of ZPTC seats. A larger meeting is set for October 8 to finalize plans with in-charges and senior leaders.
MPs and MLAs shared ideas on candidate profiling and committee structures. District in-charges were assigned to advance campaign activities. The State President will announce the final committees soon.
Additionally, the party set a focused plan for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election in the Hyderabad-Secunderabad area. City leaders will take an active role in the campaign, with a special committee to manage candidate selection and public engagement.
The meeting ended with a call to boost party enthusiasm and expand outreach efforts. Leaders stressed that the local elections are a chance to show the BJP’s dedication to rural development and transparent governance, aiming to position the party as a strong alternative to the current Congress administration.
