The state government of Hyderabad has announced that the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) will be the new nodal agency for the recently launched Cool Roof policy. The Commissioner and Director Municipal Administration (CDMA), N Satyanarayana, has issued orders for the DTCP to implement effective policies across urban local bodies statewide, excluding the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HDMA). The CDMA will share ULB-wise targets with municipal commissioners, who will work on a target-based approach to ensure compliance with the Cool Roof policy by building applicants. Occupancy certificates will only be issued after thorough verification.
