Miss World 2025: Hyderabad to Host Major Event in May
The Telangana government has increased security after central intelligence agencies warned of possible terrorist attacks. This alert comes after a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In light of this, the police have ramped up security measures, especially since Hyderabad will soon host two major events: the Bharat Summit from April 25-26 and the Miss World 2025 competition starting May 7.
The Bharat Summit will focus on political, economic, and international topics. Around 400 delegates from 100 countries are expected to attend, including notable leaders like Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Meanwhile, the Miss World event will welcome contestants from 140 countries. Because these events are high-profile, security is being tightened at key venues like the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and throughout the Cyberabad area.
Due to the intelligence warnings, the police across the state are on high alert. This includes boosting security at tourist spots and other locations that could be potential targets. In particular, the Hi-Tech City area, which has a large number of foreign visitors, is receiving special attention.
Top officials, including Chief Secretary Shanthi Kumari and Director General of Police Jitender, have ordered all law enforcement teams to act swiftly. Counter-intelligence units are keeping a close watch for any suspicious activity. Police patrols and inspections are also being increased in the old city, a place known for having a history of criminal activity.
Starting the night of April 24, the Cyberabad Commissionerate will be under intense surveillance. Security forces will also check neighborhoods with a high number of foreign visitors. Police are working hard to ensure nothing goes wrong during these important international events.
