Gangaram, the commandant of the Telangana Special Police 17th Battalion, tragically lost his life after falling into an elevator shaft in Sircilla town. He was 55 years old.
On Monday night, Gangaram had visited his batchmate, DSP Chandrashekhar Reddy. After the visit, he was on his way back when the accident happened.
He pressed the button to take the elevator from the third floor. However, the elevator door opened before the elevator itself reached the floor.

Not realizing that the elevator was not there, Gangaram stepped forward and fell into the open shaft. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he could not survive the fall.
