The Telangana government has sanctioned 200 new Additional Junior Civil Judge-cum-Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class courts across the state. The courts are intended to help litigants access local judicial services and address court backlogs.
According to Law Department G.O. Ms. No. 59, dated September 24, 2026, the decision follows a request from the Telangana High Court Registrar (Vigilance) for 594 new junior civil judge courts, along with the staff and infrastructure needed to run them.
After reviewing the request and receiving the Finance Department’s concurrence on September 2, 2026, Legal Affairs Secretary B. Papi Reddy issued orders sanctioning 200 court units in the first phase.
Rangareddy has been allocated the largest share, with 30 courts across Rajendranagar, L.B. Nagar, Kukatpally, Hayathnagar, Chevella, Shadnagar, Amangal and Ibrahimpatnam.
Medchal-Malkajgiri will receive 25 courts across Malkajgiri, Uppal, Medchal and Kukatpally. Hyderabad has been allocated 16 courts under the City Civil Court and Sessions Court jurisdictions.
In other districts, Nalgonda will get 10 courts, including at Miryalaguda, Devarakonda, Nakrekal and Nidamanur. Khammam has been allocated eight, Karimnagar seven, and Warangal and Hanumakonda together 12 court units.
The allocations also include eight courts in Sangareddy, seven in Suryapet, six each in Nizamabad and Jagtial, and five each in Siddipet and Mancherial. The order places courts at district and sub-divisional stations.
The government said separate orders on staff recruitment, judicial officer postings and building budgets would follow. The High Court Registrar (Vigilance) has been directed to complete the administrative work needed to make the 200 courts operational at the earliest.
