Hyderabad: The Telangana Prisons Department will host the 7th All India Prison Duty Meet from September 9 to 11, 2025, at the RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy. This is the first time Telangana is organizing this national event, which brings together prison staff from all over India for competitions and training activities.
Dr. Soumya Mishra, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, mentioned that the event aims to improve physical fitness, mental alertness, and operational skills among prison employees. Participants will take part in various contests and joint exercises to boost inter-state coordination and share best practices in correctional services.
The event will begin with an Opening Ceremony on September 9, attended by the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Verma. State IT Minister D Sridhar Babu will host the cultural program on September 10, and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
Dr. Mishra highlighted that the meet will enhance camaraderie among prison departments and serve as a platform for skill development and knowledge sharing. “This is a proud moment for Telangana, showcasing our commitment to professional and reformative justice,” she said.
The Prisons Department has worked with various state agencies to ensure smooth logistics, security, and hospitality for the delegates attending the event.
