Cyclone Shakti has formed in the Arabian Sea and is heading towards India’s western coast. This marks the first cyclone of the season in this region. Authorities have issued warnings and are making preparations in the areas likely to be affected. The system started as a low-pressure area and has now grown into a depression. It is currently moving at 12 kilometers per hour towards the west-northwest. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that it will soon become a full cyclone, with a chance of turning into a severe cyclone within 24 hours.

High alerts are in place for the coastal regions of Gujarat, Goa, and Maharashtra. Meteorological experts warn that an intensification of the cyclone could cause unexpected and significant impacts. State governments are urged to stay alert and ready for any developments.

Although Andhra Pradesh is not under immediate threat, officials there have been advised to remain cautious. The IMD is closely observing Cyclone Shakti and is providing constant updates and assistance to the coastal states as the situation unfolds.
