The Defense Department has recently released a gazette cancelling the cantonment elections that were scheduled to take place on April 30th of this year in 57 cantonment boards across the country, including Secunderabad. Although the last Secunderabad Cantonment Board Elections were held in 2015, the term of the ruling class expired on February 10th of 2020. Consequently, the Center appointed a nominated member. As a result of the cancellation, the current administration will continue to serve until further notice.
