Hyderabad Runners, a city-based running group, recently celebrated its 16th anniversary by organizing a symbolic 5K run. The event saw the participation of 150 runners from different backgrounds. The run started from Jalvihar and ended at Lumbini Park, covering a distance of 5 kilometers. In addition to this celebration, Hyderabad Runners also took a pledge for safe health and environment as part of the Meri Life, Mera Swachh Shehar campaign awareness.
The GHMC Khairatabad circle AMOH, SFAs, and Sanitation staff also joined in the 5K run along with Hyderabad Runners. What started as a small group of 15 people at KBR Park has now grown to become one of the best running communities in the country, with over 8,000 members from all parts of the twin cities.
The Hyderabad Runners Society organizes the Hyderabad Marathon every year in August, which has become one of the most preferred marathon events in India. Around 20,000 runners from all over the country participate in the marathon, making it a huge success. This year, the 12th edition of the Hyderabad Marathon is scheduled to take place on August 27, 2023.
