Hyderabad: Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka criticized the BRS government...

The Telangana Rythu Bandhu Samithi Chairman, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, has addressed the press conference at the BRS legislature party office in Hyderabad. He stated that around 1.50 lakh acres of crops have been damaged due to heavy rains and hailstorms in some districts, causing losses to farmers. Reddy has urged the Centre to send a central team for enumeration of losses and provide financial assistance to the State. Mango orchards, maize, and jowar crops were among the crops that have been affected by the recent hailstorm.

Reddy also expressed his concerns about the Fasal Beema Yojna by the Centre, which he claims is not beneficial to farmers and only benefits insurance companies. He stated that while the premium paid to the company was Rs 880 crore, farmers only received Rs 485 crore. This is why even BJP ruled states, including Gujarat, are not implementing the Centre’s Fasal Beema Yojna. Reddy took exception to the criticism by BSP leader RS Praveen Kumar, stating that despite knowing the system being in the office, the former IPS officer was talking like BJP and Congress leaders.

MLA Vivekanand also spoke at the press conference and accused BJP leaders of trying to create unrest among the unemployed. He stated that the party would take legal action against Bandi Sanjay if he talks without evidence. Reddy emphasized that the State government would come to the rescue of the farmers, but they need support from the Centre as well. He also reminded that when there was a similar situation earlier, and when the State sought Rs 7,000 crore as compensation, the Centre gave just Rs 230 crore.
