Odisha Assembly Speaker, Pramila Mallik, has suspended two BJP MLAs, Mohan Charan Majhi and Mukesh Mahaling, for throwing pulses at the Speaker’s podium. The suspension will last until the end of the current session on October 4.

The suspension came after the BJP members protested against a remark made by ruling BJD MLA, Arun Kumar Sahoo. Sahoo criticized the Leader of Opposition, Jayanarayan Mishra of BJP, and Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra, without mentioning their names. He suggested that there may be a mental health disorder among the opposition members and urged everyone to come to the House in a good mental health condition.
