    The South Central Railways has announced that two major projects have been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The projects involve doubling the Mudkhed – Medchal & Mahbubnagar – Dhone section and the Guntur – Bibinagar section in the jurisdiction of South Central Railway.

    These projects will allow for the introduction of new trains and additional freight transportation, benefiting both Telugu States. They will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the regions by promoting economic growth and improving mobility for goods and people.

    The first project, “Mudkhed-Dhone,” covering a distance of 417.88 km, has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs. 4,686.09 crore. The second project, “Guntur – Bibinagar,” covering a distance of 239.00 km, has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,853.23 crore. During the construction phase, these projects are expected to generate employment for about 75 lakh mandays.

    Overall, these projects aim to enhance transportation infrastructure and support economic development in the respective regions.
