Uttam exposes BRS deception in paddy auction

Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy dismissed allegations made by BRS leaders about a paddy tender scam. He challenged the claims and presented data to compare the government’s procurement processes with those of the previous BRS government.

During the previous government, the TS Rice Millers’ Association requested an auction of paddy due to poor quality. The decision to purchase the paddy after auction was made by the BRS regime, not the government. The minister explained that the previous tenders under BRS government had issues, leading to cancellation and re-floating of tenders.

After the formation of the new government, a new committee oversaw the tender process, resulting in better prices for paddy. Uttam highlighted flaws in earlier tenders by BRS, which were rectified in the latest tender. The government is expected to generate more revenue from the auction of paddy compared to the previous regime.

The minister emphasized that the corporation faced significant debt due to mismanagement by the BRS government, which has been reduced under the Congress government. He also warned against traders purchasing produce below MSP and shared increased procurement numbers this year compared to last year.

In conclusion, Reddy highlighted the improved performance of the government in managing paddy procurement and revenue generation.
