Hyderabad: Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu unveiled a statue of Professor C. R. Rao, a renowned mathematician and statistician, at the C. R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (AIMSCS) in the University of Hyderabad. This event took place on Tuesday, marking the 104th birth anniversary of Professor Rao.
During the ceremony, Naidu praised Professor Rao’s incredible contributions to the field of statistics. He highlighted how Rao’s ability to simplify complex statistical ideas has made a lasting impact across many areas of study. Naidu also encouraged people to continue Professor Rao’s legacy by promoting innovation, sharing knowledge, and working towards improving society.
Several notable individuals were present at the event, including the Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, Professor B. J. Rao, and Professor D. Balasubramanian, Director of Research. Professor Brien Holden from the Eye Research Centre of LVPEI also attended the occasion.
