Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Water Board has taken action against people using illegal water motors. On Friday, officials seized eight electric motors that were wrongly connected to the main water pipeline.
Some residents had attached these motors to draw more water, which caused low water pressure for others in the area. This practice is illegal and unfair to other consumers.
To stop this, the Water Board’s vigilance team is now carrying out regular inspections. On Friday, they visited areas 12, 13, and 14 of Shalivahana Nagar Road in the Moosarambagh Section and removed the illegal motors.
A senior Water Board officer warned that anyone caught doing this will face action. The motors will be seized, and if the same person is caught again, they will be fined Rs 5,000 and a legal case will be filed.
The Water Board is requesting all residents to avoid attaching motors to the pipelines. If anyone is facing low water pressure or other supply problems, they should contact their local Water Board manager or officials for help.
