    Liquor Shops and Bars to Remain Closed for Legislative Council Elections

    All wine shops and bars in certain areas of Hyderabad will be closed due to the upcoming Legislative Council elections on February 27.

    Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty announced on Saturday that liquor shops, including toddy shops, wine shops, bars in restaurants, star hotels, and registered clubs, will remain shut in the Kollur and RC Puram police station limits. The closure will begin at 4 PM on February 25 and continue until 4 PM on February 27.

    Additionally, non-proprietary clubs, star hotels, and restaurants with liquor licenses are also prohibited from serving alcohol during this period. Even hotels with special permits for liquor possession and supply must follow the restrictions.

    This order is being enforced under Section 135-C of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, to ensure a smooth and fair election process.
