MSMEs Crucial for Telangana’s Growth, Says Industries Director

Hyderabad: Dr. Malsur, the Director of Industries, highlighted the important role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Telangana’s economic development. He stressed the need for better partnerships between Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), large industries, and local businesses.

He explained that when PSUs work with local MSMEs, they benefit from lower costs and smoother supply chains. To support this, the Telangana government is helping MSMEs improve their technology and obtain quality certifications. These steps will enable small businesses to meet industry standards and become more competitive. Dr. Malsur also introduced the Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana (DEET), a platform that connects MSMEs with skilled workers easily.

To further support MSMEs, the Directorate of Industries, along with the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) platforms and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, held a one-day workshop. This workshop aimed to solve cash flow issues for MSMEs by helping them use digital platforms to receive payments on time.

The event also focused on identifying key products and services needed by PSUs and large industries. This will help Telangana’s MSMEs gain better market access. The initiative is part of the State Government’s new MSME policy, which aims to create long-term business connections and provide more market opportunities for small enterprises.
