Several YSR Congress leaders are thinking about leaving the party after being denied tickets or having their demands rejected. One prominent figure is Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakara Reddy, who wanted his wife to be a candidate but was turned down by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is now considering leaving the party, with discussions already underway.

Meanwhile, Narasaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu, who resigned from the YSR Congress after being asked to contest from Guntur Lok Sabha seat, is likely to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Other YSR Congress leaders, including MLC Janga Krishna Murthy and former MLA Makkena Mallikarjuna Rao, are also expected to join the TDP. Chittoor MLA Arani Srinivasulu, who was not given renomination, is also considering switching to the TDP.

The discontent among YSR Congress members stems from the party’s social engineering policy and its focus on winnability while denying tickets to some long-time aspirants. This has led to frustration among those who feel overlooked by the party leadership.
