Hyderabad dominates the wealth landscape of the Telugu states, accounting for 93.2% of the combined wealth of rich-list residents in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. According to the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026, the city has 114 entrants holding a combined wealth of ₹10,03,800 crore. The two states together feature 134 individuals with wealth of at least ₹1,000 crore and a total fortune of ₹10,77,100 crore.
Telangana accounts for 120 entrants with a combined wealth of ₹10,27,100 crore, while Andhra Pradesh has 14 entrants with ₹50,000 crore. The wealth calculations are based on a snapshot taken as of August 24, 2026. Hyderabad has emerged as a major wealth hub with 26 dollar billionaires and ranks fourth among Indian cities by the number of rich-list entrants, behind Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru.
Seven residents from Hyderabad feature in the national Top 100. Murali Divi and family of Divi’s Laboratories lead the city with ₹1,25,400 crore, ranking 13th nationally. P Pitchi Reddy of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) is ranked 52nd with ₹53,100 crore, followed by MEIL managing director PV Krishna Reddy at 54th with ₹52,100 crore.
Sridhar Pinnapureddy and family of CtrlS Datacentres are ranked 62nd with ₹46,100 crore. PV Ramprasad Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma is 67th with ₹39,900 crore, while B Parthasaradhi Reddy and family of Hetero Labs are 70th with ₹39,400 crore. Surender Pal Singh Saluja and family of Premier Energies are ranked 91st with ₹35,200 crore. Together, these seven individuals account for ₹3,91,200 crore, representing about 39% of Hyderabad’s listed wealth.
Pharmaceuticals remain the biggest source of wealth among Hyderabad’s leading business families. Divi, Ramprasad Reddy and Parthasaradhi Reddy together account for ₹2,04,700 crore. MEIL promoters P Pitchi Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy account for another ₹1,05,200 crore. The 2026 list also reflects the emergence of new sectors including data centres, artificial intelligence, green energy, biotechnology, aerospace and defence.
Pinnapureddy is the wealthiest new entrant among India-based residents, with ₹46,100 crore. Hurun has classified CtrlS Datacentres under artificial intelligence. Mahima Datla and family of Biological E are among India’s five wealthiest biotechnology entrepreneurs, with ₹25,200 crore, while Krishna Murthy Ella and family of Bharat Biotech are valued at ₹11,000 crore. Karunakar Reddy Baddam and family of Apollo Micro Systems enter with ₹7,500 crore, while Skyroot Aerospace co-founder Pawan Kumar Chandana enters with ₹3,200 crore.
The Hurun rankings are primarily residence-based, meaning they do not capture the full extent of Telugu-origin business interests. Several prominent business families listed under Hyderabad have roots in Andhra Pradesh. MEIL promoters P Pitchi Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy, who are based in Hyderabad, trace their roots to Dokiparru in Krishna district. PV Ramprasad Reddy is an Andhra-born entrepreneur who co-founded Aurobindo Pharma in Hyderabad.
In Andhra Pradesh, N Visweswara Reddy and family of Kadapa-based Shirdi Sai Electricals are the state’s wealthiest listed residents. The report gives the combined wealth of all 14 Andhra Pradesh entrants as ₹50,000 crore but does not provide Reddy’s individual valuation. Krishna Chivukula and family of INDO-MIM, who have roots in Bapatla district, are ranked 80th with ₹37,500 crore, but since Chivukula is listed as a Bengaluru resident, his wealth is counted under Karnataka.
