    Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the foundation stone laying for the redevelopment of 554 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. 15 railway stations in Telangana will be transformed with modern facilities and upgraded services.

    In Hyderabad district, Begumpet and Yakutpura Railway stations are being upgraded with an investment of Rs 31.1 crore. These stations play a significant role in meeting the increasing demands of rail users. Once completed, these stations will provide a better experience in terms of comfort and class.

    The South Central Railway (SCR) is undertaking projects worth more than Rs 1,800 crore, covering 15 stations in Telangana, 34 stations in Andhra Pradesh, six stations in Maharashtra, and two stations in Karnataka. The upgradation works also include the construction of 156 Road Over Bridges/Road Underpasses, with 49 ROBs/RUBs costing approximately Rs 927.31 crore.

    Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan emphasized the infrastructural transformation happening in the state, with 15 railway stations set to be upgraded with modern amenities. She also highlighted the promotion of local products, art forms, and cultural heritage through ‘One Station, One Product’ stalls at various railway stations in Telangana.

    Dr K Laxman, MP, Rajya Sabha, called the occasion historic for bringing modern facilities to 554 railway stations nationwide. He mentioned that the Union Government is prioritizing the development of railways, roadways, and airways for societal and national progress. Telangana has been allocated the highest funds in the railway budget this year.

    Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Batti Vikramarka Mallu, urged the Central government to grant the Kazipet coach factory to Telangana as a gesture following the state re-distribution act. He expressed the State government’s willingness to collaborate on railway project development in the region. Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of SCR, highlighted the rapid transformation underway in Indian Railways through projects like these, emphasizing the commitment to serve the nation and its people.
