Hyderabad: A major flyover project has been launched in Tandur constituency as part of the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) to address mounting traffic issues at key junctions. MLA Bairiya Reddy conducted a detailed review of the ongoing construction works and assured residents that the new infrastructure will bring significant relief to congested areas.
The 416-meter-long flyover is being built to connect Tandur, Goudanur, and surrounding mandals, creating a seamless traffic corridor for daily commuters. The structure is designed to streamline vehicle movement, reduce waiting times at busy intersections, and enhance overall road connectivity in the region.
Officials overseeing the project confirmed that nearly 20 percent of the construction work has already been completed. They expressed confidence that the remaining phases will progress rapidly using modern construction techniques to ensure durability and efficiency.
The flyover will serve as a critical link for commuters traveling through the Junction, Old Tandur Road, and Goudanur Road. Authorities stated that the infrastructure will also help divert heavy vehicles away from congested zones, thereby improving road safety for all users.
MLA Bairiya Reddy emphasized that uninterrupted traffic flow has become a pressing demand from local residents. He reiterated the government’s commitment to resolving long-standing transportation challenges in the constituency.
Work on the SRDP Ring Road is progressing simultaneously at multiple locations across the region, forming part of a broader initiative to upgrade road networks.
During his inspection, the MLA also reviewed sites where additional grounding works are scheduled to begin next month. These include improvements to internal roads and construction of small bridges under the Panchayat Raj department.
Proposals have been prepared for new link roads in rural areas to address connectivity issues faced by several villages. Bairiya Reddy instructed officials to expedite groundwork and maintain quality standards throughout the execution phase.
Local engineers confirmed that once administrative approvals are cleared, construction will commence immediately to benefit communities struggling with inadequate road access.
Officials highlighted that the new flyover, combined with surrounding link roads, will transform traffic patterns in Tandur and neighboring regions. The SRDP initiatives are expected to deliver smoother travel experiences and improved road networks for residents in the coming months.
MLA Bairiya Reddy stated that the government aims to strengthen rural infrastructure and ensure that development reaches every household across the constituency.
