The Communists in Warangal have criticized the BRS for not officially celebrating the Telangana Merger in the Indian Union on September 17. CPI State Secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao spoke to the media in Hanumakonda on Friday and strongly criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for not honoring the Peasants’ Armed Struggle.

Kunamneni accused KCR of being afraid of MIM and announced September 17 as National Integration Day instead of recognizing it as Telangana Armed Struggle Day. He highlighted that while the rest of India gained independence on August 15, 1947, the people in Telangana achieved their freedom on September 17, 1948 due to the revolt led by the Communists.
