The BRS party has suffered a setback before the assembly elections as former MLA Nallala Odelu and his wife, Manchiryala ZP Chairperson Bhagyalakshmi, have returned to the Congress party. There have been rumors about the couple switching parties for some time, which led to discussions with Congress leaders in Hyderabad over two days.
Nallala Odelu joined the Congress party with the assurance of being given importance within the party. The event where they were welcomed into the Congress party took place at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad, with PCC Chief Revanth Reddy, Nallala Odelu, his wife, their two sons, and other BRS leaders present.
Nallala Odelu’s followers believe that he may contest as a candidate from the Congress party in the upcoming election. They think that if he receives the party’s ticket, it will lead to a strong competition in Chennuru, even for candidates from other parties.
