CM seeks more NABARD loans for women’s SHGs in Telangana

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has asked the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for more loans at low interest rates to support women empowerment programs.

During a meeting with NABARD Chairman Shaji KV, the Chief Minister requested financial assistance under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and additional funds for micro irrigation projects. He also urged NABARD to strengthen existing Cooperative Societies and establish new ones. Additionally, he suggested introducing special schemes to support Women Self-Help Groups.

Revanth Reddy also sought NABARD’s help in increasing the milling capacity in Telangana by linking IKPs, godowns, and rice mills. He directed officials to ensure that NABARD funds allocated for the current financial year are fully utilized by March 31. He also emphasized the importance of using NABARD-sponsored schemes in the next financial year.

The Chief Minister suggested linking Solar power generation plants, which have been sanctioned for women groups, with NABARD. He also requested NABARD to improve rural connectivity in newly formed Gram Panchayats. In response, NABARD Chairman Shaji KV proposed the formation of District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs) in the newly created districts.
