Hyderabad – Leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) women's wing have raised strong objections after Miss England, Milla Magee, reportedly left India feeling disrespected. They criticized the incident, saying it tarnished the country’s image and disrespected a guest in a land known for honoring women.

At a press conference held at Telangana Bhavan, former MLA Gongidi Sunitha and BRS leader Rajani Saichand expressed deep disappointment. They said it was shameful that a foreign woman was made to feel unwelcome in Telangana, a state that prides itself on respecting women.

The leaders blamed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for the controversy, claiming that his actions damaged India’s international reputation. They pointed out that while the Miss World pageant had been given significant attention, a participant left the country feeling humiliated — something they said should never happen.

Sunitha further questioned the government’s motives, asking why promotional posters for the Miss World event featured large images of the Chief Minister and other ministers. “Are beauty contests meant to attract investments?” she asked. “Using such events for political promotion is shameful.”

The BRS women demanded immediate action against those who disrespected Miss England. They also announced plans to file a complaint with the Human Rights Commission, calling for accountability and justice.

The issue has sparked public debate over how international guests are treated during high-profile events and how politics may be influencing such occasions.
