Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has called for a fair and independent investigation into the harassment claims made by Miss England, Milla Magee, during her visit to Telangana.
Rama Rao expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said that Telangana is known for its tradition of honoring women, and such an event goes against the state’s core values. As a father, he shared his personal concern, saying no woman should have to go through such trauma.
On behalf of the people of Telangana, he offered a sincere apology to Magee. He emphasized that the state has always stood for women’s dignity and empowerment, inspired by historical icons like Rani Rudrama Devi and Chityala Ailamma.
Rama Rao praised Magee’s bravery for speaking out about her experience, especially on a global stage like the Miss World platform. He said her courage is truly admirable and wished her strength and healing.
He strongly criticized the government’s response to the situation, accusing officials of trying to shift blame onto the victim instead of launching a proper investigation. He demanded strict action against those involved in the harassment and urged authorities to uphold justice.
