Global food and beverage giant Nestle has announced the establishment of a new Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, India. The center will operate under Nestle Business Services India in collaboration with Genpact, marking a significant expansion of the company’s global business services network. This development positions Nestle among a growing list of multinational corporations including L’Oreal, McDonald’s, and Carlsberg that have recently set up such centers in India. The move was announced through an exchange filing by the maker of popular brands like Nescafe coffee and KitKat chocolates.

Nestle Business Solutions (NBS), the shared services division of the Nestle Group, will oversee the operations of the new center. The company stated that this initiative represents an important step in strengthening its capabilities and building future-ready infrastructure. Luca Fichera, Head of NBS, emphasized the strategic advantage of the location, stating that with Hyderabad’s strong ecosystem and Genpact’s expertise, the company is well positioned to deliver greater value, consistency, and innovation. Nestle Business Services India operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nestle Group in the country.

The establishment of this GCC aligns with India’s rapidly growing position as a preferred destination for multinational corporations’ capability centers. These hubs typically manage crucial functions including technology, analytics, finance, and research operations. According to a Nasscom-Zinnov report, India had 1,700 GCCs in FY24, contributing $64.6 billion in exports and employing more than 1.9 million people. The report projects that by 2030, this number could expand to 2,200 centers generating up to $105 billion in revenue.

Nestle India has demonstrated strong financial performance and commitment to the Indian market through substantial investments. The company has invested approximately Rs 2,000 crore in capital expenditure over the last two years. For the January-March 2026 quarter, Nestle India reported a 22.6% year-on-year increase in revenues to Rs 6,748 crore. The company’s domestic sales reached Rs 23,071.5 crore in FY 26, driven by double-digit volume growth and market share gains across its product portfolio.

The partnership with Genpact for operating the new GCC reflects Nestle’s strategy to leverage local expertise while expanding its global operations footprint. Hyderabad has emerged as a preferred destination for such centers due to its robust talent pool, infrastructure, and business-friendly environment.
