City pet owners adopt new pets

Hyderabad: On Sunday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) held an event at Jalagam Vengalrao Park in Banjara Hills to encourage adoption of Indie puppies. They urged people to “Be a Hero. Adopt, Don’t Shop” by welcoming a pet into their homes. At the event, 39 dogs were showcased, and 24 puppies found new families with enthusiastic dog lovers.

The GHMC Commissioner, RV Karnan, emphasized the importance of treating adopted local puppies as beloved family members. He, along with Khairtabad Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi, opened the Indie Puppy Adoption Mela in the scenic park.

The event featured a variety of well-cared-for puppies, all vaccinated and dewormed, under the theme “Be a Hero. Adopt, Don’t Shop.” The adorable puppies charmed everyone present, drawing affection from dog enthusiasts.

Commissioner Karnan, along with Khairtabad Zonal Commissioners and dog lovers, admired the delightful puppies. He personally gave the first puppy to CH Sai from Kukatpally, starting a new friendship.

Karnan praised those who chose to adopt, highlighting their kind hearts and the love and loyalty they bring into their homes. The event was also attended by GHMC Chief Veterinary Officer Abdul Vakeel, DD veterinary Dr. K Chakrapani Reddy, and other guests.
